What is Macula Degeneration?

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition that affects the middle part of your vision.
It usually first affects people in their 50s and 60s. It can be brought on by various different causes, and comes in two different forms.

When you come for your test, we will assess the health of your retina and your visual field. We also recommend that you have an OCT scan, which can look at the layers of tissue in your retina in great detail, and detect early signs of problems.
